12/06/09
iomart Group plc is delighted to announce that it has been named Data Centre Operator of the Year 2009 in the annual ‘Storrie’ awards organised by Storage Magazine.
The award was presented to the Group last night at a gala ceremony, attended by over 400 industry and media guests, held in London’s Tower Hotel.
Now in its sixth year, the Storage Awards, or ‘Storries’ as they are affectionately known, allows the readers of Storage Magazine to vote for, and reward, companies and services that they believe have made significant contributions to the IT industry during the year. It is believed that this year’s awards saw over 20,000 votes cast.
Angus MacSween, CEO, iomart Hosting stated: “We are naturally very pleased to have won such a prestigious award, particularly as it is voted and awarded by the readers of Storage Magazine."
“We are sometimes viewed as a relatively new entrant within the Data Centre market, and yet the reality is that we have been managing hosting environments for over a decade, and we fully understand this marketplace. “
